Martissant Park - a unique contrast of systemic changes in the impoverished community of Martissant. In addition to green walking trails, the 45 acre park includes fascinating features such as a medicinal herb garden, a fountain honoring the 21 nations of vodou, a cultural center, and a memorial to the 2010 Earthquake survivors with a tree installation of masks decorated with sparkling crystals. In the Park we are addressing environmental issues such as reforestation and plan to establish an environmental education center as a hub of learning about the environment in Haiti. The Park also has an interesting history.
"Martissant Park is a place of exchange, where dialogue replaces violence."
